Cameron Scott

Cameron Scott is a San Francisco-based correspondent for IDG News Service. He covers search, Web services, privacy and some security issues.

Cameron joined the News Service in January 2012. Previously, he wrote the green blog The Thin Green Line on SFGate.com. He was an editorial fellow at Mother Jones magazine prior to that. His work has appeared in Mother Jones, California Lawyer and the San Francisco Chronicle, among other places.

In another life, Cameron earned a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Cornell University and taught Spanish and expository writing.

Cameron’s hobbies include playing guitar, playing soccer, hiking with his dog, playing Scrabble and watching cheesy crime dramas.
